The Diamond Trading Corporation of London (the rough diamond trading arm of De Beers) commissioned Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC, to design and manufacture the "world's first ever life-size" Diamond Tennis Ball Trophy for the Kraft Tennis Tournament "Battle of Champions" which was held at Madison Square, New York. The Diamond Tennis Ball Trophy was won by Steffi Graf in 1993.
