Useful Information

A diamond is the finest earthly beauty that every girl dreams of owning; when a romantic soul finally present a diamond studded object for his/her better half it has to be of perfection thus not to lose the lovely moment. Hence knowing the fundamentals; will ensure you the perfect moment will last forever.

Let’s get to know the 4 C’s better shall we? The 4 C’s stand for;

  • Cut
  • Clarity
  • Colour
  • Carat weight

QUALITY CONTROL TESTS

    Every creation has its own splendour and near perfection status. The more the flaws are invisible to the naked eye the more it can be called as perfect. Diamonds also have flaws which are commonly known among the field as “inclusions” & “blemishes”.

    Inclusions are the carbon aspect that has not being through the crystallized process and has being trapped inside the worthy crystal cage of the stone. Inclusion acts as a barricade to the reflecting rays of light thus giving out a less glamour from the stone. The lesser the inclusions the rarer the stone becomes.

    These inclusions can vary in sizes and shapes which has a rather significant impact when deciding the quality of the diamond. Blemishes also can occur due to natural causes but unlike inclusions blemishes will appear on the diamond due to cutting and polishing process.

    Clarity can be measured as follows;

    • VVs – Very Very Slight inclusions
    • Vs – Very Slight Inclusions
    • Si – Slight inclusions
    • P – Inclusions

    Colour is another characteristic, which measures the perfection of this valuable stone. The ideal and rarest stone will be colourless but majority will have a slight hint of brown or yellow into it which is noticeable when compared diamond stones side by side.

    The explanation for such colour variance is due to the other factors that had an influence at the birth of the diamond, which has trapped atomic substance in the crystallized cage.A trained eye can detect the minuscule colour differences and can grade it according to the following colour grades.

    For a diamond stone the unit of measurement is named as “Carat” where one carat is divided into 100 points. The important thing to remember is that carat actually measures the weight of the stone and not the size of the diamond, thus discards the belief the larger the stone the heavier it becomes. Remember size is not what’s important; it’s the actual worth of the diamond, which can be really high in a small diamond so make the best choice to have an eternal impression inside your lover’s eyes.
